Takeaways from Val Hoeppner's "Mobile: What editors need to know" session.

  • Folks reading tablets spend 121% more time reading news than they do on smartphones.
  • Readership of the USA Today app is 200% more than the paper's print circulation.
  • Cellphone reading is "snacking" vs. "gourmet dining" on tablets.

The real highlight, though, was exposure to a lot of software and hardware opportunties for mobile journalism.

When tweeting, include story links, photos, video, facts.
