Why should we care that European designers are offer a line of jewelry that speaks for itself? Because Bluetooth jewelry could change the smartphone/iPad equation for news delivery.
The jewelry here also doubles as Bluetooth connectivity devices. Each necklace is a receiver linked to earphones disguised as earrings.
What this does is give the large-screen notepad a better chance at becoming a replacement for the mobile phone. Women with purses can keep a 3G-activated iPad in their purse and never need to pull it out to answer a call. Sure, you can do that with current Bluetooth headsets, but the Borg look was only stylish on Jeri Ryan in Star Trek. These fashionable devices make connectivity elegant.
If they catch on as well as the designers hope, the next step will be "manly" headsets so we guys can stuff our iPads into those knapsacks we refuse to call purses.
