Neelam heads to the security line as she scrolls through her phone’s Facebook app to pass the time. Sundeep has already posted that he’s on his own for the evening.

IMAGE: images/FBWall.jpg - Facebook screenshot - FACEBOOK Fiancée headed off to Boston– super important woman that she is. Who’s around tonight? Comments: Jeremy: Dinner @ Athenian? Pat: You’re a lucky man! Gina: You better tell her to pack her lead undies – have you seen what’s going on there? (she posts a link to the local environmental blogger.)
Neelam clicks the link on Gina’s Facebook comment. It brings up the headline: “Problem at Nuclear Plant – Reports of Emergency Personnel En Route to Site.” She’s startled by what she’s reading.
Neelam looks at the link again. The blogger is an environmentalist in Hazeltown, Mass., just one town over from where the partners at Sidley, Austin and Swain are waiting for her. The rest of his page is filled with alerts and alarms about the overuse of pesticides at area farms and how water quality reports are being covered up by the Environmental Protection Agency. While the page feels a bit too “conspiracy theorist” to Neelam, the writer does link to some mainstream blogs and government sites.
She is certain the firm would never send her into the middle of an emergency. But the situation does sound dangerous. And yet, the last thing she wants to do is bother her boss.
