David Caswell
David Caswell is the founder and developer of the Structured Stories platform. Caswell developed Structured Stories in order to explore the fundamental units of news and narrative, and to experiment with rebuilding journalism on a new, network-centric foundation.
He was previously a director of product management at Yahoo! Inc. and the product lead for Yahoo!’s Content Analysis Platform and Knowledge Graph. He was also a founder of GeoPerception Inc., a geodata and augmented reality company in San Diego, California, and a software architect and developer of geographic and time series data systems. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Caswell resides in downtown LA with his wife, Sharon. He spends an hour each day with a print newspaper, and when he’s not busy with his fellowship project he enjoys reading, writing and coding.
