Rachel Zamzow
Rachel Zamzow is an award-winning science journalist and editor based in Waco, Texas.
She’s the managing editor of The Open Notebook (TON), a non-profit organization that supports the global community of journalists who cover science.
At TON, she also run the Covering Science Slack, a peer-mentoring community for local journalists who want to incorporate more science into their stories.
As an independent journalist, Zamzow reports stories about neuroscience and ethics in science for several publications, including Science, Science News and The Transmitter.
Zamzow got her start in science journalism thanks to a 2014 AAAS Mass Media Fellowship at The Philadelphia Inquirer and an Open Notebook/Burroughs Wellcome Fund early-career fellowship in 2017-2018.
Before she dove into science writing, Zamzow got my Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Missouri in 2016.
