The digital transformation of journalism education

To draw attention to the digital transformation of journalism and journalism education, Eric Newton’s fellowship focused on creating a new type of teaching tool for educators — a digital book that, with a click, turns itself into a classroom edition.

A team of RJI-selected educators and journalists produced layers for the book containing lesson plans, classroom activities and research assignments useful to journalism educators at the high school, community college and college levels. The book launched in fall 2013 and has since been used in classrooms at the Missouri School of Journalism.
