Take our survey on Hostility, Silence and the Fight for Trust
Are you a current or former reporter, editor, producer or anchor who is experiencing no cooperation or worse from your official sources?
We need your valuable perspective for a new public national survey about Hostility, Silence and the Fight for Trust.
We’re asking journalists:
- Are you facing more resistance when seeking comment?
- How do you communicate silence without fueling distrust?
- What would make reporting through hostility more transparent and fair?
When sources refuse to engage, journalists are forced to do more than report, they have to defend credibility, explain absence and maintain transparency under pressure.
RJI and SmithGeiger are conducting a national study to understand how growing hostility and strategic silence are reshaping journalism and how newsrooms can respond more effectively.
By taking this short survey you will:
- Develop actionable guidance for restoring trust when sources won’t participate
- Be part of the research shaping the solution.
- Be part of a study that also includes a national survey of 1,000 Americans
- Have your experience in the newsroom heard
Thank you!
