Introducing the Reynolds Journalism Institute’s 2024 Impact Report
The Reynolds Journalism Institute at the Missouri School of Journalism today released its 2024 Impact Report, highlighting RJI’s work throughout the year to empower journalists, local news organizations and students. Through fellowships, newsroom partnerships, workshops, student programs, photojournalism competitions, online and print publications, resources and research, RJI continues to provide vital support for the journalism industry.
RJI’s 2024 activities included:
- A report on “The Burnout Crisis in Journalism,” based on a survey of over 1,000 current and former news professionals.
- Support for applied research from Missouri School of Journalism faculty and other partners.
- Innovation in Focus’ experiments with 18 newsrooms.
- The eight RJI Fellows whose work was adopted by more than 150 newsrooms.
- Programs sending journalism students to provide digital training and support to community newsrooms nationwide.
From driving innovation to fostering collaboration, RJI remains at the forefront of tackling journalism’s biggest challenges.
