RJI Fellows Impact Report: 2023–2024 fellowships already benefiting hundreds of journalists
The impacts of projects from the eight journalists and professionals who completed their 2023–2024 RJI Fellowships this year are gathering momentum as news organizations implement and iterate on their ideas. Within six months of the conclusion of the fellowships, resources created by the Fellows were already being used by more than 150 newsrooms and more than 300 journalists.
At the end of their fellowships in March, the Fellows presented a range of practical, open-source innovations, from step-by-step guides and outside-the-box strategies to toolkits that give newsrooms everything they need to kickstart new approaches to audience engagement.
But while their fellowships may be finished, the Fellows are still working to spread the word by leading trainings, workshops, and presentations across the country and internationally.
With that in mind, the Reynolds Journalism Institute presents the 2023–2024 RJI Fellows Impact Report, which covers March-August 2024 and offers a brief look into how these projects are already making a difference in the industry. It’s all part of RJI’s commitment to providing solutions that deliver real value to local news organizations.
