Janet Saidi is KBIA’s assistant news director and teaches at the Missouri School of Journalism. All of Janet’s varied projects are about building community, through audio, journalism, and storytelling. RJI funded her research in 2021 which resulted in the Missouri on Mic resource.

She has written and produced pieces for NPR, PBS, the BBC, the Christian Science Monitor and the Los Angeles Times. Janet recently hosted KBIA’s live talk show The Check-In, and has also directed the station’s “You Don’t Say” and “Missouri on Mic” series that combine oral history with audio journalism.
