Mikaela Rodenbaugh was previously a senior editor on the RJI innovation team. She lead collaborations with the One Newsroom (KOMU, Vox, Columbia Missourian, Missouri Business Alert & KBIA) and tested innovative journalism ideas with them and the RJI student Innovation Staff for Innovation in Focus.

Before arriving at RJI, Mikaela was the Audience Data & Research Strategist for the content innovation team at Gannett. She is a proud graduate of the master’s program in Public Communication & Technology at Colorado State University where she also got her bachelor’s in Journalism & Media Communication. During her master’s program, she instructed the next generation of reporters as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the CSU Journalism Department. She says she cut her teeth managing, editing, producing for and reporting under the banner of The Rocky Mountain Collegian, CSU’s daily campus newspaper, and interning for the local USA TODAY NETWORK newsroom, The Fort Collins Coloradoan.
